Flashback Friday No. 6

Since I couldn't post one last week, I'm giving you a 2for1 deal today! Lucky you.....

First photo is from 2005.... May to be exact! This is my two dear friends Christina and Cynthia, (whom you have seen in previous Friday posts) We are outside of our high school graduation.... I love these girls and all of our memories!!

I'm going with 2006 for this one, I know I was around 19yrs old when I got Herbie, my first love. I rescued him from the humane society and he is the most precious poodle in the world. He lives at my moms house now. After 2 years of having him, I started moving a lot and it was hard on him. I miss our walks in the park and us cuddling up at night. He was my first serious commitment, and he never let me down.

Happy Friday Folks!

If I don't get to post again before New Years, hope you all are safe and ring in the new year with the ones you love!!

A Refreshing Break From The Stress

My last post kind of showed my stress and how out of hand it has gotten. Today though was a nice break from my own thoughts, Robert wasn't working so we went to the park. I am certain my son's smile can cure any bad day.

Robert and I also talked a little about how unhealthy we have gotten. We have started to get lazy and lets face it, the unhealthy junk is a lot more convenient. We don't eat fast food but we still have been making bad choices. So we set "goals" for ourselves, some of mine are to cut out sweets and coffee also to eat a salad everyday....I'm hoping to return to my previous diet of being vegetarian (with the exception of fish) This isn't one of those "new year resolutions" or anything, it just so happens to be that time of the year.... I told Robert I wasn't going to make two separate meals so when I cut out meat, he will have to cook it on his own. He surprisingly was all for it! So needless to say this small step of setting up our new "diets" has left me feeling better already....

Now if I could just get this bag of Christmas M&Ms to disappear

Blog therapy

Just a warning, this post is mostly me venting about my current state of mind

I don't feel like I can keep up anymore, with life, my child, and my own crazy thoughts... I feel a little unfulfilled to be honest, like I'm not meeting my full potential. I want everything I do to be a success and well since that is unlikely, I find myself not trying at all. I want to improve my lifestyle in so many ways but feeling like my goals are to far fetched and I'll never get there. Most days I feel like I didn't do half of what I set out to do at the start of the day, which leaves me feeling lazy. I do have a young child around the house 24/7 which makes brushing my teeth a challenge most days. I feel like wanting a break a few days a week is selfish. I have a hard time leaving him with anyone, because of that... well he only wants me for everything. I LOVE the bond Robby and I have, but I feel like I'm making life hard on him and myself... Everyone tells me how moms need "mom time" Sorry if I am rambling right now and this post doesn't make a lot of sense. I guess the main point I'm trying to get out is, I want/can be fulfilling so many more goals I have set for myself. I just need to stop making excuses.

Maybe it's the new year approaching that's making me feel uneasy??? All I know is I need to try harder for the things I want....

Our Three Christmases

Wow, it feels like I haven't blogged in a month! In actuality its been 5 days.... I let myself get swept up in the holidays and just didn't have time to sit in front of the computer and complete a post, sorry for that. I have had a great few days though!! Robert has had extra days off work and we got to see a lot of family.

Our 1st Christmas is always spent with Robert's family, they open gifts and do all the fun stuff on Christmas Eve. It was a lot of fun, as it always is! Plus there is all the tamales and meundo a girl could ask for.... Robby was asleep by the time it came to open presents, sadly. OH and, I was named this year's "present passer-outer" (yes yet another word I made up) I'm quite shy and don't do to much talking so they thought it was funny seeing my face turn bright red.....

 Sweet boy sleeping.....

The next "Christmas" was the morning of, and it was just us three..... It was around 6am when Robby woke up so we rushed to sneak the presents under the tree before he came into the living room. (The original plan was to do it after he went to sleep the night before, but we got tired.) He didn't seem to care that much about the presents honestly. I think its because he is like me, and is pretty grumpy the first half hour after he wakes up. Once we sat him down and opened the presents he seemed pretty excited, and started playing with everything..... We got it all on video, I'm excited to see what Robert does with the footage!!! We then made waffles and went back to sleep, bliss.

Lastly, we went to my sister's house for dinner and to finish opening more presents later that day. It's always an experience when my family gets together, the country in us comes out for sure. We get loud and lose most of our manners, but its pretty funny. We had so much food, seriously.... I'm pretty sure there was more stuff than what we made on Thanksgiving! After opening presents and eating my mom comes into the family room with 3 shot glasses of Jagermeister for my sister, myself and her. It was soooo out of the ordinary for her to want to drink, especially to take SHOTS! So my sister and I looked at each other and said "what the hell" and we took our first shots in history with our mom. That wasn't the end though. . . . more shots continued. Before you knew it, I was having a NERF gun war with my step dad from across the house! (I won that war BTW) Then my mom, sister, and I started to karaoke to Fancy by Reba McEntire. I haven't drank like that since before baby was around, it was fun. Robert really enjoyed seeing me let loose too.

 My two eldest nieces

I hope all of you enjoyed your Christmas (or other holiday) ..... It is almost time to say goodbye to 2011, I'm ready to take on 2012 especially since there is so much talk about everything changing in '12. I'm moving forward and hoping for a positive change in the world!!!

Glass Jar Crafts!

I think its so cool to see glass jars being reused and upcylced for so many things!! When Robby started eating baby food I swore to myself I would save MOST if not ALL of them and do lots of cool stuff.... Here are a few great gift ideas or just stuff you can do for your own house!!

ZooLights!

Another post for today, sorry I'm playing a little catch up with all the pictures I have..... We went to zoo lights last week, I just wasn't able to post about it till now.

Main reason to go to ZooLights: Robby loved all the colors/lights and watching all the people.
Main reason NOT to go to ZooLights: We spent almost as much time looking for a parking spot as we spent inside!

Snow Covered Happiness

Last Thursday Robert, baby and I went up North... way up North, like a 4 hour drive!! We stayed in Pinetop, AZ which was a cute little town amidst a whole lot of forest. Robby got to see/feel/play with snow for the first time in his short life hehe!! He had a good time, but I think he had more fun climbing the stairs in the hotel and playing chase in the hallways!! I was a bit worried about the drive because we've never been on a road trip with baby before. He did amazing though, slept the whole way up and more than half of the way back down to Phoenix. He started to get fussy about 5 mins away from the house, luckily!! I am so proud of how good he was!! I enjoyed myself too, lots of eating out and treating ourselves to Starbucks and treats from the vending machine .... I really cant wait till next winter though when Robby will be more into the snow and know what it is!!

Some random thoughts about my trip:

I really love icicles!!

Charlie Clark's has one amazing bbq pulled pork sandwich!!

I need boots that are snow proof.

Robby sadly has my hair, which means lots of static when its cold.

A snowman is harder to build than I remember it being when I was younger.

My child hates hats and gloves.

Our new ipad is a great road trip item, BTW "I don't know how she does it" is a cute movie!!

My roots are getting really bad

Snow or no snow,  I love the winter.....
